The construction of PVC and Hypalon boats is often different, but both are reliable. Some manufacturers use heat welding technology to join pieces of PVC, making the seams even stronger than the material itself. Additionally, because the surface of PVC is denser than that of Hypalon, the inflation pressure can be slightly lower for Hypalon rubber boats.

Hypalon inflatable boats (and some PVC inflatable boats) are generally bonded together using high-strength adhesives. Compared to the automated welding of PVC, this is a labor-intensive manufacturing method and is a weakness of some cheaper boats, so quality assurance in this manual work is crucial.

8. What type of boat is suitable for you?

Aside from the notion that "bigger is better," there are several factors to consider. First is the boat's lifespan; a good manufacturer and retailer can offer a longer lifespan. Good manufacturers will provide quality stainless steel rings, sturdy aluminum paddles, reliable inflatable valves, and efficient air pumps. These will help you inflate the boat with minimal effort.

But you still need to buy a boat of the right size!! Larger boats handle better than smaller ones. The differences in handling, load capacity, and performance between a 2.7-meter boat and a 3-meter boat arise from the different water contact areas. Unless you have tried both at the same time, this difference is greater than you might think. Boats smaller than 2.7 meters can take off, but they do not perform well and can easily lose flight status. A 10-foot (especially an 11-foot) boat will have less bow rise during acceleration and can maintain flight status at lower speeds. They are also less sensitive to slight directional changes, making them easier to drive. A larger air chamber and wider beam will also reduce the chances of the boat getting wet. Longer boats provide more usable internal space, while the internal space of inflatable boats is often limited by bulky air chambers and the shape of the bow.
